Mini Margarita Flatbread

Flatbread can be an easy and delicious meal or snack any time of day. This recipe will transport you to Rome — or at least make you feel like you’re dining at a charming Italian café.

Note: If you want to reduce the calories by 45, fat by 2.5 g, and saturated fat by 1.75 g, reduce the cheese to one mozzarella ball. (It still tastes good!) Using a ½ oz. of fresh goat cheese will also lower the calories and fat.

  • 1 mini naan bread (or whole-wheat pita)
  • 1 T. prepared tomato sauce
  • 6 small cherry tomatoes or 3 large cherry tomatoes (cut in half)
  • 2 small mozzarella balls
  • 2 to 4 fresh basil leaves


  1. Preheat broiler to high.
  2. Toast naan bread in toaster for 1 to 2 minutes. Then spread tomato sauce on top of the naan.
  3. Tear mozzarella balls into small pieces before adding to the naan, along with the tomato halves.
  4. Tear or snip basil leaves into small pieces. Sprinkle on flatbread. Broil on high for 3 to 4 minutes until the cheese is melted.
